Progress in geographical naming standardization in Korea and the Pan American countries
Dr. Sungjae Choo
Dr. Sungjae Choo has taught Geography in Kyung Hee University, Seoul, Korea where he is currently serving as the professor. He is a bachelor and master graduate in Dep. of Geography College of Social Sciences, Seoul National University, and obtained a PhD in Geography from State University of New York at Buffalo, USA. He has served internal and external standardization of geographical names as the Chair of the Korea Committee on Geographical Names(KCGN), and the Vice-Chair of UNGEGN Bureau. Dr. Roger L. Payne
Dr. Roger L. Payne served as the Secretary General of the U.S. Board on Geographic Names(USBGN) from 1993 to 2006 where he is currently serving as the member emeritus. Also, He served for design, development, analysis, and education of database as the Director of the US Geological Survey from 2006 to 2012, and currently for programs of cartography and geography as the Director as well as the Senior Instructor of PAIGH.

Spatial information industry development in Korea and the Pan American countries
Dr. Eun-Hyung Kim
Dr. Eun-Hyung Kim is a professor emeritus at Department of Landscape Architecture, College of Engineering, Gachon University in Korea. Since he found GIS technology in 1985, most of his lifetime has been devoted to GIS research on national and local GIS planning and implementation. His major research area is on NSDI policies, GIS standards, GIS implementations in local governments and recently, Geospatial Web, Ubiquitous(Smart) City, and Geo-design. Arturo Alberto Cruz
Arturo Alberto Cruz is a bachelor degree in Geography from the National Autonomous University of Mexico(UNAM). He is interested in topics such microcomputer programming and automation, and engaged in projects such as GIS analysis, GIS consultant, and Mexico City election mapping consultant. He contributed to the establishment of TERRASAT in 2009 and is currently serving as the company's Director.

Dr. Chul-sue Hwang
Dr. Chul-sue Hwang has taught Geography in Kyung Hee University, Seoul, Korea where he is currently serving as the professor. He is a bachelor, master and PhD graduate in Dep. of Geography College of Social Sciences, Seoul National University. He has served publication of National Atlas of Korea as the President of the Korean Geographical Society. Dr. Wonho Lee
Dr. Wonho Lee has taught Geography in Sungshin Women’s University, Seoul, Korea where he is currently serving as the professor. He is a bachelor and master graduate in Dep. of Geography College of Social Sciences, Seoul National University, and obtained a PhD in Geography from University of Washington, USA. He has served publication of revised National Atlas of Korea(Volume 3) in 2021 as the President of Geographical Research Institute of Korea affiliated the Korean Geographical Society. Pauline Murtagh
Pauline Murtagh is a bachelor graduate in Dep. of Education and Professor of Geography at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. She postgraduate in Applied Geography and Environment from the same university. Master in University Teaching from the University of Las Américas. She has worked as a teacher at various universities in Chile, in chairs related to Earth sciences since 2001. Since 2000 she has worked at the Geographic Military Institute (IGM) and since 2016. she is in charge of the Geocartographic Publications unit, section responsible for the elaboration of thematic maps and atlases of the IGM. |
